Ein Ort multidisziplinärer Kunst
Tageblatt report on the opening of the Walfer Kulturschapp in Walferdange, a former CFL freight shed turned into a multidisciplinary arts venue. Its first exhibition was Tre, the touring show by Cesare Riva, Michele Benedetto and Raymond Lohr, arriving after stops in Pietrasanta and Milan.

TRE 3x3x3 – catalogue
Trilingual catalogue (Italian, French, English) of the 2007–2008 tour of TRE 3x3x3: three sculptors, three sculptures each, three themes (love, living together, sadness). Conceived as a homage to Cesare Riva, who died in June 2006, it opens in Milan and Pietrasanta before reaching Raymond Lohr’s atelier in Walferdange and London, and contains Nathalie Becker’s essay on the group and Giuseppe Cordoni’s The Triangle of Stone Singers.

Portrait in Le Quotidien as Raymond Lohr’s Fontana delle lacrime enters the Museo d’Arte Moderna Pagani, the Italian museum that also holds Jean Arp. Jérôme Quiqueret traces the path of the 49-year-old Walferdange sculptor from cabinet-maker and teacher to marble carver trained in Pietrasanta with Cesare Riva, and his hope for recognition at home after Italy.

«Tre» – Cesare Riva, Raymond Lohr, Michele Benedetto
Full-page feature in the Mantua art monthly Archivio (May 2004, p. 38) on the touring exhibition Tre, held under the patronage of Luxembourg’s Ministry of Culture. Libero Maso describes Raymond Lohr as the youngest of the three, working geometric forms into organic ones, and reproduces his marble Fontana delle lacrime.

Tre – exposition itinérante de sculptures 2003-2004

It introduces the three sculptors who met in Pietrasanta and describes Raymond Lohr, the youngest, as listening to the real (« à l’écoute du réel », hence Ray L) and setting polished marble against rough, porous or folded surfaces.

Luxemburger Wort feature on Raymond Lohr’s stelae with sharp, living edges, shown in his Helmsange studio. Georgette Bisdorff follows him from the boy shaping sand on the beach to master cabinet-maker, teacher trained in Mannheim, sculpture student of Josy Jungblut and Pierre Weber, and pupil of Cesare Riva in Pietrasanta, and explains the name Ray L: « à l’écoute du réel ».

Lëtzebuerger Journal on the open days at Raymond Lohr’s sculpture studio in Helmsange (Walferdange) in July 2000. The piece quotes D.W. Dörrbecker’s exhibition text on Ray L’s ties to classical modernism, from Brancusi to Max Bill and François Stahly, and Paul Celan’s poem Weggebeizt displayed beside the stones, with a photograph of children on one of the sculptures.

Essay by the art historian D.W. Dörrbecker, written in July 2000 for Raymond Lohr’s open-studio exhibition in Helmsange. It places Ray L’s work in the tradition of classical modernism, from Brancusi’s search for the ideal form to Max Bill and François Stahly, and reads the sculptures Écoute I and II, Androgynes Fragment and Idée as a dialogue between polished and rough-hewn stone, abstraction and narrative.
